Day 313 Dad has been doing some home engineering, so his toolboxes were opened out when I got home from work:

Toolbox

He's got loads of tools, as you can see, he probably has everything twice, once in imperial and once in metric. I always think of the red one as being new, I think he bought it in 1987 or 1988. Before the red one he had a dark blue one, which was all scratched through years of use, unfortunately it was in the car boot when the car was stolen around that time. We got the car back, but no toolkit, no cassettes, which meant no more listening to Round The Horne on long car journeys.

Day 217 Another what-to-photograph? day. Could've used a pic of myself I had to take (which I did by looking in the mirror in the upstairs Ladies loos at work) but instead I took a pic of the banister & balustrades at the top of the stairs - another Dad-made creation:

Little Rocking Chair

Day 96 I don't usually post the bigger size pics but you wouldn't see this one at its best otherwise. My Dad made this for the grandkid-to-be when he/she's about two years old:

Little Rocking Chair

Isn't it awesome? The runners can be removed so it can serve as an ordinary chair. It's such lovely wood, the grain shows up really well. I can picture the scene already: The London Olympics is on TV, the family gathered on the sofa & chairs at my sister's place, kidlet on the rocking chair to the side of everyone, rocking back & forth slowly, then my mother or my sister telling kidlet to PLEASE STOP ROCKING LIKE THAT because it keeps catching the corner of their eye & it's annoying. Kidlet smiles & carries on rocking because he/she takes after their mother who did annoying stuff like that as a small child (& still does).
