Thanks to [profile] marykir, [personal profile] vicodin_martini and people at the Apple Forum and the iLounge, I now not only have iTunes back,a fully up-to-date iPhone and Let Them Talk on my iPod, but also Paint Shop Pro X2 is back and working. In addition, Adobe Photoshop Elements is no longer the tempremental beast it was, and all parts of DVDVideosoft work. And those odd little windows at boot-up saying something I've now forgotten no longer appear.

As you can see in the iLounge link, rogue fonts can cause huge problems. I now have plans to download new fonts, having removed 3500+. I won't download all of them because some were so dull I've no idea why I wanted them in the first place, and I'm sure some are so similar it's only worth having one of the sort. But I will be indexing and installing them more carefully knowing now the damage that one little rogue file can do.

So, now that I'm back in the game, does anyone have any iPhone app recommendations? I've downloaded Instagram because I saw it everywhere and it's free, but the App Store is huge now. So please let me know of any favourites :)

Day 175 Finally I got round to updating iTunes in preparation for the iPhone update. Except it didn't work. All I got was an error message, something like "File jeff69.dll is missing, find it and we'll carry on" - so I tried a complete uninstall then reinstall, but that made no difference. Fortunately I still had the previous version's installation file so I've gone back to that. And so far, so good.

I'm now making another playlist, this will include some of the classical music I bought a couple of months ago. It will include some stuff from previous playlists, like the Hugh Laurie stuff and some of the Rolling Stones items and Band From TV stuff. Not sure yet about all the Robert Sean Leonard tracks, I might keep one or two in this playlist.

Day 75 I bought a new radio alarm clock yesterday. This is my first digital radio, and I didn't realise that this means you can't adjust the clock. It plays & charges the iPod & has already charged the iPhone. Unfortunately the clock display (which you can't see here cos it's too bright) looks a bit crap when showing the time, it's really optimised for the radio display. But it woke me up this morning fine.
