Perfume Miniatures
Wednesday, October 13th, 2010 07:35 pmDay 286 Arrgh another OMG What To Post? day. You can tell this is getting near the end, I feel like I've photographed everything. So today here's a lineup of 16 of my favourite perfume miniatures.

Back row, from left: XS Pour Elle, Women Of Earth, Deci Dela, Hugo Woman, L'Air du Temps.
Middle row, from left: Organza, Very Irresistable, Skinwear Ten, Ghost, Autumn.
Front row, from left: Dolce Vita, Cerruti 1881, Fendi, Poême, Far Away, Amor Amor.
Boots always sells sets of perfume miniatures at Christmas, which is where some of these are from. Others I've bought myself, and I have a few from a part-works called The Perfume Collection which was published several years ago and only got as far as six issues. I do like the artistry of perfumes, and the social history of them is fascinating - aspects such as perfume fashions, ingredients, design, advertising, purchasing habits (ie for a long time in the 20th century it was unheard of for a woman to buy perfume for herself, it was meant to be a special gift from her man or her close friends or sister).
