Day 324 This placemat now has a home at the side of one of the chairs in the living room, but for years it was 'my' placemat at the dinner table:

Fiat 1903

I remember thinking, as a child, how cool and fun it would be if modern-day cars had these old-fashioned bulb-squeeze horns. One would certainly be an improvement on the horn in my current car, which is girly and weedy and high-pitched and totally ineffective against lunatics in polished BMWs on the A45.

Day 193 It finally rained! More is forecast for during the week, it's the first we've had for a while - note that none of the play at Wimbledon was interrupted by rain. It's collected on the roof of my car as it's out of the carport and on the drive for the week, while my uncle's hire car is in the carport - as I'm out first and in last during the day it makes sense.

It's Raining

They had the oldies' gathering today, there was lots of food left (thankfully not all of it was made from pork) so I've had two little cheesecakes, a little chocolate eclair, and some pizza. And there's chocolate Swiss roll left :P

Day 150 Just cleaned my car, cos it needed cleaning, and the car wash at Sainsbury's was out of order when I went for petrol on Thursday. But nice and shiny now:

I asked Dad for assistance and/or direction, cos I knew he would give it whether I asked for it or not. Better to be upfront about it than have him suddenly appear and tut or gasp or whatever. And he's got loads of car cleaning bottles of stuff in his garage, however as I don't think he's had a dark red car since the Maxi (mid-late seventies) none of the colour-appropriate things would be applicable. Plus I hoovered out the driver-side footwell as best I could - I don't have a mat there because it kept catching on my boot heels. But all is now done.

This is the first time I've slowed down this week. It's been rather stressful in a cumulative way - I'm proofreading a book we're about to publish at work, and after a while you do go rather cross-eyed. I've also had coursework to complete, and car stuff to sort out. I finally sent my coursework off tonight, and also tonight I got my car taxed - such a relief to be able to do it online! Particularly so as I've lost my MOT certificate and will have to pay to get a reprint. I need to sort out the next MOT and a service for my car, which I will do tomorrow. You have to pay for a reprint/reissue of an MOT certificate but it's only £10 according to the Government website. And tomorrow I will also have a Post Office queue to stand in, but the Post Office is near to a card shop which sells Thorntons Chocolates, so some lovely Halloween chocolate goodies for Friday afternoon I think :)

1. Open your unsorted images folder, or if you don't have one, any other images folder.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Find the first three images that begin with that letter, and post them, whatever they are. Give the name they're saved under.

My letter is L, and I went through my photograph archives to find appropriate pics.
