1. Leave a comment to this post - specifically saying that you would like a letter.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows.

1. Lisa Cuddy (House MD) - I'm still unpleased that I feel like the majority of the people behind House MD didn't fully explore the character of Cuddy or what Lisa Edelstein could do. Hugh Laurie as director being a notable exception, his episode felt like an all-too-brief glimpse of the real Dr Cuddy.

2. Lily (Upstairs, Downstairs) - There's a lot of talk within the UpDown fandom - including from Karen Dotrice - that maybe the character was somewhat superfluous and had a rather convoluted exit story. I disagree, while it's clear that the episode of her leaving wouldn't be played the same way today, the plot is believeable to me, maybe it could've been hinted at during the previous episode but that's the only major change I'd make. But to me she will always be part of the 1920s Downstairs family.

3. Laverne (Laverne & Shirley) - I loved how Laverne, unlike Shirley, had no truck with fantasies about a perfect wedding to a perfect husband, and instead concentrated on having fun for herself. Tho I never understood why EVERYTHING she wore had an L on it, didn't the novelty of that ever wear off?

4. Miss Lemon (Agatha Christie's Poirot) - I've never read any of the Poirot books, but I did once read that Miss Lemon is described in one of the books as "quite ugly" which is very mean. When I first saw the TV show in the 1990s I thought her job would be a fabulous one to have, such exciting work and in the middle of fashionable inter-war London. I still do, whenever I watch one of my Poirot DVDs.

5. Lois Lane (The New Adventures Of Superman) - I really wanted to like her in this show, but I'd never heard of Teri Hatcher before, so I was unaware she's incapable of smiling. Therefore, her Lois Lane was such a disappointment. Such a shame as I loved Dean Cain's Clark Kent/Superman, he was a wonderful flesh-and-blood human superhero, how did he ever find Hatcher's Lois Lane attractive? Any likeable portrayals of Lois Lane, please direct me to them.

Well, it's nearly 10pm and I haven't touched Tumblr this evening. Time to go rectify that.
