Never put something away 'in a safe place' - you will not be able to find it again.

In other words, has anyone seen my Race For Life medal from last year? I was sorting through my old goodie bags from last week and from previous years, and found all the medals apart from last year's one. I've looked in all the safe places I can think of (jewellery box, pencil tins, the zippy-thing that holds my USB sticks) but I can't find it anywhere. The bag from last year's goodie bag is now the wet kit bag I use for the gym, but no sign of my medal anywhere around the gym bag. I must have put it somewhere 'safe' when I was sorting that out earlier this year.

I'm pretty sure it had a dark blue ribbon, in contrast to the various shades of pink of the others. When I find it, I'll post a pic of all my medals together. I just sorted out my recent photos for backup, but I don't like the pic of me from this year's event - to be honest, I look like a bit of a short pink lump. Not good. But accentuate the fact that I completed the race well and raised £100 in the process.

Lolz Or Not

I did my Race for Life today. All week I've been looking at the weather thinking "I hope it doesn't rain" but this morning I was thinking "I hope it does rain" which changed during the race to "I wish it would totally piss it down". It was very hot and very humid, and I've been struggling with my hayfever recently. So no record times, and I still have a thumping headache despite all the meds and a snooze.

All this means I've not seen much of Flight Day 9 of the shuttle mission. I saw the start of the final EVA - I saw one of them emerge from the hatch like something out of a David Attenborough programme. You know how on the Halloween eps of The Simpsons and the party eps of Spaced how everyone in the credits has their name altered to fit the episode? They've done that in the Execute Package - I was looking through and the daily procedure chart had names like Ham Hock and Astro Aki (you can download it here).

I have some pics from Race for Life, I might post later today or tomorrow or whenever my head stops thumping.
