I Had A Dream

I slept in late this morning, I didn't want to wake up because I wanted to hold on to the dream I was having.
Basically there was a bunch of us - mostly extended family, plus a couple of other friends - and we'd gone out to some social club kind of place. There was a live band there and by the kind of strange coincidence that only happens in dreams, it was Band From TV - with special guests Omar Epps, Robert Sean Leonard, Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison (sadly no Lisa E or any of the new cast additions). They needed a harmonica player for a couple of songs and as (according to dreamland logic) I could play and had my harp with me, I joined them. Jesse & Jennifer took a few LV turns, Omar seemed to be there as a sharp-suited MC (think of Foreman's cool Season 4 suits) and RSL was apparently acting as guitar technician.
Now - apart from Hugh and Greg Grunberg I'm not too familiar with the full lineup of Band From TV. So I'm not sure if it was James Denton that approached me, but I assumed that's who he was - but he said that the band were going to hang out together back at the hotel (where everyone in my dream was staying) and if I'd like to hang out too I'd be most welcome. So, everyone headed back to the hotel - after a lengthy discussion outside over who would be travelling in which car, and where the baby would go. I've no idea whose baby it was, but the little thing was quite happily dozing there while everyone else discussed which seat it should go in, how the seatbelt fitted with the babyseat, and so on. I think in the end it was in the Renault Espace (Greg Grunberg's vehicle). I can't remember who else came in my car (my real-life Clio).
I don't remember much about being back at the hotel, there was no-one at the bar so we helped ourselves to drinks and sat about on the worn velvet plush, and people were falling asleep - RSL was slumped in a corner and nearly fell asleep with a full glass of coke in his hand. Going up to our rooms, we all seemed to take the longest routes possible along corridors full of low tables with fringed table-lamps and ornate frame pictures, or cold full-length windowed wide corridors like you get in railway stations or shopping malls past their best days. You know those logic puzzles that go along the lines of 'If A lives two doors down from B, and D lives opposite C, how many houses separate A from C?' - it was like that trying to find our rooms because the doors didn't have numbers although the keys did, and we were allocated rooms based on some form of poetic logic, eg a corridor for family members, main corridor for House cast, etc. But I think we got ourselves sorted.
However next morning, everyone was up bright & early, we were bustling in and out of a big kitchen with a huge table in the centre (again, like the bar, the kitchen seemed to be unstaffed so we made breakfast ourselves). RSL was sitting at the table tucking into scrambled egg on toast, Omar Epps was pouring coffee for everyone, and my Dad asked if there was any tea. I was asking if we had enough eggs as everyone seemed to want eggs for breakfast, and maybe someone should check to see if the chickens had laid any new eggs. So I went out, unfortunatly was returning eggless when Hugh came out to see if there were any eggs. I said no, and someone zoomed past us on a bike.

Also - I get my LJ alerts to my Googlemail inbox - this one had quite an eclectic set of adverts along the sidebar - Bruce Springsteen tickets, harmonica lessons, baby car seats :)
