Hedgehog

Dad just called me downstairs, cos there was a hedgehog on the front lawn. We went out to see it - it was so sweet! We get some streetlight coverage in the front garden, but there's also plenty of shrubbery. Anyway, this little hedgehog was shuffling and scurrying about, stopping every now & then to sniff the air or sniff the ground in front of it. It was a small hedgehog but had a long pointy nose, and perfect tiny round eyes. I love it when we get animals wandering into our garden.

I know, it's something I don't want to take for granted.

We get the occasional fox, too - there's lots of coverage about for them to live amongst, it would be lovely if we saw them more often.

One time we saw a fox cub curled up, asleep on top of some dense leafy shrubbery. Totally adorable, such a beautiful creature it was :)

No, we sadly can't take for granted seeing the animals close at hand any more.
