Could not let such a fabulous occasion go by unremarked upon. Hugh Laurie's Best TV actor win at the Golden Globes won't surprise anyone who is familiar with his acting, nor his longtime fans who know that such an accolade is long overdue. His was a wonderful speech too, very funny (see what you missed out on Emmy-people? Well, you now know for next time, there's no excuse not to get it right). I knew Jo would be there, but I didn't know Stephen Fry was there until I went online. It's so fantastic that he was there, Stephen & Hugh are so lucky to have each other. It was good to hear from Hugh after winning his award (it will be even better to hear from him when someone asks him a decent question) but I'm also looking forward to hearing Stephen's view on the night. I know what he'd say of course (how wonderful the show is, how talented Hugh is, he's so proud of his success) but I can't wait to hear it in the first person.

All this has made me lose my usual attempted-eloquence and regress to my teenage diary style (figures I guess, as much of that was about Hugh at the time). It's the best thing that's happened so far this year, and I'm very proud of Hugh. Congratulations babe!
