Swimming Pool

A good swimming pool will never disappoint your sense of anticipation. Whether it's for relaxing, several speedy lengths for fitness, or just for fun, a swimming pool provides the bare canvas in which to weave your pool dreams. The first glimpse of the pool presents you with an undulating intense cyanosphere of potential, the first dip of the toes into the water serve to hook you completely, and then you're in, bobbing along like you're trying to walk on the moon.

Of course, not all pools are the same. The large, rectangular lane-divided pool may not have the apparent glamour of a gently curved private pool set on a terrace under the Mediterranean sun, but compared to the rest of the sports-and-fitness complex it's usually attached to, it's still a secret world of blue dreaminess and water-lapping caresses, a refuge from the perspiration, hard edges and yelps of nearby. Indeed, to the romantically-minded, the only inescapable downside to the indoor public pool is the chlorine aroma. The rest - steps into the pool, a diving board or several - may be enough to conjure up the dreams of a time when pools equalled glamour.

And what of the smaller private pools? Swim under the sun, or the moon, as you wish. Swim all day, or just sit by the pool and watch the sun catch the water as it touches the breeze. Swim in your favourite costume, a new swimsuit, or wearing nothing at all. But above all, swim like you're a living dream.
