Stressed and Destressing

This is the first time I've slowed down this week. It's been rather stressful in a cumulative way - I'm proofreading a book we're about to publish at work, and after a while you do go rather cross-eyed. I've also had coursework to complete, and car stuff to sort out. I finally sent my coursework off tonight, and also tonight I got my car taxed - such a relief to be able to do it online! Particularly so as I've lost my MOT certificate and will have to pay to get a reprint. I need to sort out the next MOT and a service for my car, which I will do tomorrow. You have to pay for a reprint/reissue of an MOT certificate but it's only £10 according to the Government website. And tomorrow I will also have a Post Office queue to stand in, but the Post Office is near to a card shop which sells Thorntons Chocolates, so some lovely Halloween chocolate goodies for Friday afternoon I think :)

I have a meme! From [livejournal.com profile] bmax67

1. Open your unsorted images folder, or if you don't have one, any other images folder.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Find the first three images that begin with that letter, and post them, whatever they are. Give the name they're saved under.

My letter is L, and I went through my photograph archives to find appropriate pics.

Little Tree - this is a little tabletop Christmas Tree which my late grandmother owned; my sister loved it as a child and consequently it's now hers. As in my grandmother's day, it sits on top of the television at Christmas.

Lanes Near Truro Cathedral - Truro is the nearest city to my relatives in Cornwall, the cathedral is rather lovely and the roads nearby are old and narrow. Very nice - more about Truro Cathedral here.

Lucy, July 1994 - Lucy was a dog owned by my aunt & uncle in Cornwall. Lucy lived from the early 1980s to late 1990s, and was one of the sweetest, most even-tempered dogs ever, with the waggiest tail you could ever encounter. Note that she's not looking at the camera here - she was known for posing for the camera to the extent that you had to sneak the camera behind your back to get past her, otherwise she'd be sitting in front of you with her best doggy-eyed gaze in place.

Awww, that last one of Lucy is so cute.

What a beautiful cathedral! Wow. I love the history you have in Europe.

Great story about that little Christmas tree. Amazing what a certain letter will uncover!
