And then there were nineteen
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 06:44 pmWe've won another gold (and some bronzes) but have slipped to fourth in the overall medal table as Russia have won a couple of golds they were expected to win (synchro swimming, rhythmic gymnastics) so it looks like we'll finish in fourth place. Currently, Germany are fifth and Australia sixth, and both won gold today.
Our medals of the day are:
Gold - Boxing - James DeGale, middleweight
Bronze - Canoeing - Tim Brabants, K1 500m
Bronze - Taekwondo - Sarah Stevenson, +67kg
I also watched Tom Daley's appearance in the diving finals live, he finished 7th, excellent performance and of course everyone has him down as one to watch for London 2012. The Australian guy who won did so with an unbelieveably perfect final dive, and then proceeded to bawl his eyes out and hug everyone in the watercube.
Last day tomorrow! It's gone so quickly, I can't believe it. And then all eyes will be on us.
