I went to my first Zumba class this evening. It's held at the Scout HQ about two minutes walk from my house, and it was really good. I was quite surprised how well I kept the pace up through the hour, I only seriously started to flag during the last routine - Hava Nagila, I'm not kidding, I never thought I'd end up doing exercises to that music but it was fun - and I think I did well for a first-timer. There was quite a mix of music, I've heard that some Zumba instructors prefer to lean towards salsa, or Bollywood-style, but there seemed to be a bit of everything, including Living La Vida Loca, which I'd suspected was compulsory after hearing about friend's Zumba classes. I was home just after 7.30pm, straight into the shower while my dinner cooked. And I'm still hungry, but thankfully I don't ache too much. But that might change tomorrow.
