New Laptop
Monday, August 3rd, 2009 04:02 pmThis morning, my laptop appeared to be working fine... and then when I was out of the room it died on its arse :( Attempts to start it back up were sadly futile. It was well over four years old and had been seriously used, so I think it had done well; nevertheless I was hoping it would hang on for the release of Windows 7 so I could get a super new laptop with a super new OS.
Instead, I have a super new laptop with Windows Vista. Which I'm getting used to slowly. The keyboard feels different and not quite as nice, the keys are bigger so I'm making lots of spelling errors along the way. Thankfully I was able to take a day off work, getting the laptop initially up & running was no problem, now I have to download everything - programs, web favourites etc - and get it sorted. I have to remember passwords too, which I'm mostly managing to do so far. Think I'll save iTunes until the weekend, I have a feeling that will be fiddly. But, it's nice to have things like a speedier machine (4GB, I think the old laptop was 512MB), working CD drives, working USB ports, etc.
In the meantime, have some super cute kittens:
