Well, there isn't a great deal to update on. I've just finished some assignment work, writing about photosynthesis. Didn't understand a word, and for the first time on my course I don't care. There's a set of three experiments to write about, it says "not more than 200 words each". I'm nowhere near 200 words for the three of them. Later in the assignment there are questions on DNA & genetics, I've done some of this before (human DNA & genetics) and this includes the study of DNA of other species, which does interest me. But I've never found photosynthesis interesting, all that stuff with leaves in science lessons at school. Plants are dull.
We have a survey ongoing at work about December's staff conference. In the general comments section I copied & pasted some extracts from my write-up on LJ about it. I think the overall tone is typical of the staff's reaction to the event in general. We shall see what comes of this; our Chief Exec isn't the type to not react, whether it's to praise, a bollocking, or somewhere in between.
I still have remnants of my cold/cough/whatever. Woke at 5am again coughing, but got some sleep after. The alarm went off at 7am and I was so cosy in bed, I really didn't want to get up. My throat's a bit sore at the mo, which I attribute to my attempts at singing in the car on the way home from work.
It snowed again overnight, not a great deal, the main roads were OK but our little road was very wintry. It's due to snow a lot here tonight, so we're on standby for a text telling us whether the office is open or if it's a snow day. Most of the roads near work are OK, they're big main roads, but the business park is so isolated (one entrance, so big queues once snow starts to fall lest anyone gets snowed in) so it's probably prudent to call a snow day and let people work from home if they can, or take leave. If it comes to a snow day tomorrow, I'll use it as leave to do some Uni work.
