Coughton Court
Thursday, July 6th, 2006 04:29 pmPaid a visit to Coughton Court today - it's near Alcester, in South Warwickshire - not far from Stratford-upon-Avon. Very nice, although it's probably much nicer when it hasn't recently been subjected to storms. There's a big old house, but the main attraction is the gardens - lots of flowers, roses in particular, and a big vegetable garden. I took lots of pics, which I'm planning on adding to my Webshots soon. I'm so happy with my new camera! Although I did have to run to the little National Trust shop in the hope that they had some batteries for sale, as mine suddenly expired. Thankfully they had some - vastly expensive, but that's better than being without, especially considering the camera itself didn't actually cost me anything.
Apart from a brief visit to the Bullring, this was my first trip outside my home city since the depression first hit. I'm happy with how it went, my head got a little angsty at times but I had my iPod with me so I could just plug myself in and listen to the music. I never seem to go anywhere without it these days, even if I'm not driving it's still in my bag for whenever I need it - and there are times when I really do need it to shut the rest of the world out.
