Warwick Castle
Sunday, April 2nd, 2006 03:37 pmTruly one of the most fabulous sights that can hove into view over the horizon, or round a corner, in Europe is a castle. Luckily, Warwickshire is well and truly blessed. Warwick Castle dates back to Norman times, and has been built on ever since. It's set in fabulous grounds too, so whatever your dreams of castles - fairytales, enormous chequered-floor halls holding banquets where finely-dressed nobles munch on roasted deer's arses, or torture in dungeons and pouring boiling oil onto your enemies, Warwick Castle has seen it and will re-create the dream or the nightmare in the spirit of Tussaud's finest. Meanwhile, I hope you like these pics, they're a selection from the ones I posted on Webshots some time ago and were taken on a 2001 visit.
